What’s one food item that just makes you happy!? The kind of happy where you do a little dance, you know what I’m talking about!
A few years ago I was scared to be around donuts even because even though I loved them and they made me happy, I didn’t trust myself. I was deep in dealing with binge eating and mentally knew it was easier to just stay away. It hasn’t been easy but I can now enjoy them again knowing that I pay attention to hunger cues, how I’m feeling, and if I’m actually enjoying it.
Nutrition is all about balance and moderation, in all aspects. Fuel your body with good food but don’t be afraid of the food that fuels your soul. Deprivation of any kind won’t help you in the long run, so enjoy some treats!
