ALCOHOL and IBS!!!! 🍺 🍷 **********************
As i’ve mentioned several times before on this account, alcohol compleeeetely messes me up. I’m talking the worst hangover you’ve ever had x1795😩 Not only do i feel like i’m on the edge of death in the morning, but about 10 minutes after i take one sip of alcohol i feel like i’m going to vom it all back up🤢 According to sooo many studies (Monash uni etc.), some alcohols are fine for people with IBS, however this really isn’t the case with me!! It’s only ever been like this since my IBS symptoms became apparent, before I could drink normally - i’d still get worse than usual hangovers but nothing compared to what i’m like now.
So a few weeks ago I decided to completely cut out alcohol. It’s been a REAL game changer for me, even though it’s been difficult! I’ve been out a couple times where my friends have been drinking, and at first I felt so shit, i thought i wouldn’t be able to have fun without alcohol (LIES) and i got so upset thinking that nobody would want to go out with me anymore.
HOWEVER it is the complete opposite. I have honestly had more fun on nights out without alcohol than i have with. I don’t feel shit, I can stay out longer as i don’t get any symptoms, and i wake up the next morning PAIN FREE🤗 What’s even better is my friends really don’t care (having a sober friend has many perks), and i’ve learnt that if they do get weird about it then they’re not someone i want to have around!! I stroooongly recommend to anybody with IBS/gut problems to have some time off alcohol, even if it’s a couple weeks, just to see how much of a positive effect it can have on your symptoms and your mental health also!!☺️☺️ P.S. If you really dont want anyone to know you’re sober, just order a cranberry juice and tell everyone its got vodka in it, nobody’s gonna try your drink ahahhaha😂😂
