I’m self-conscious about my arms, my nose, my belly, my butt, and my feet... oh and my grandma hands. Phew! I said it!
Most people who I confess my dislikes to say I’m crazy. They think I have nothing to be self-conscious about.
Whether you’re crazy confident or not so confident, we’ve all got our “things”. You know those parts of us we wish we could change?
But you know what I’ve realized? Maybe my friends are right. Maybe my nose is normal, my arms skinny, and my booty-licious. What if I stopped putting myself down and listened to my friends? Would I feel better about myself? Less self-conscious? More confident? More beautiful? I think I would.
So I’ve made a promise to myself. I’ve promised myself to listen to my friends when they say my hair looks pretty or my jeans are cute. I know the saying goes, “don’t listen to what other people think”, but in this case I think it’s better to do so (at least when it comes to friends & family. Don’t ever listen to internet trolls or bullies - but that’s a soapbox for another day).
Do you have something you’re self-conscious about? Will you join me in listening to friends and finally believing what they say? Drop a comment with a compliment your best friend would give you right now. I want to hear them all!
